Fine Living, Wall Street Journal Team Up

Hollywood -- Fine Living will team up with The Wall Street Journal to develop a monthly series set to debut later this year.

Weekend Journal -- an offshoot of a popular one-hour special of the same name that aired during fall 2002 -- will offer timely and practical information and advice from Journal researchers, writers and columnists, Fine Living president Ken Solomon announced at the Television Critics Association tour here Tuesday.

The show -- which the network expects to expand to a weekly, 30-minute format in 2005 -- will also include topics familiar to the Journal's "Weekend Journal" section, such as "Catalog Critic," "The Home Front" and "Travel."

Other series announced during the network's presentation here include Reality Checked, which chronicles the experiences of people trying to live out their dream careers; and Life in the Fast Lane with Steve Natt, which highlights the latest in motor-vehicle trends. The network also announced the renewal of freshman series Simply Wine with Andrea Immer.

In related news, Solomon announced that the network reached a distribution deal with Comcast Corp.'s Denver system, adding 40,000 digital subscribers to Fine Living’s nearly 20 million subscribers.
