FiOS TV Expands in Long Island

The Long Island village of Laurel Hollow, N.Y., became the area’s latest to grant Verizon Communications a cable franchise following a unanimous vote by its Village Board of Trustees Thursday night.

In other Verizon FiOS TV news, the New York Public Service Commission issued an order confirming the telco’s video franchises in the Long Island communities of Oyster Bay and Cedarhurst.

The Town of Oyster Bay granted the regional Bell operating company a franchise May 9, and the village of Cedarhurst did so May 1.

Verizon FiOS TV service is already to residents in the Long Island communities of Massapequa Park and the Town of Hempstead, as well as the Rockland County communities of Nyack, South Nyack and Upper Nyack. Long Island communities Massapequa Park and Cedarhurst have also granted the telco franchises.
