Comcast faces new competition in Sudbury, Mass., after the town’s Board of Selectmen approved a video franchise for Verizon Communications Tuesday night.
The town counts approximately 4,200 households. Verizon now counts 40 communities in Massachusetts where FiOS TV “is or will soon be” available.
Verizon said it is also in negotiations with about 30 other communities in the state for cable franchises.
More information on the company's efforts in Massachusetts is available on its Web site.
