Five For Fundraising: Carriers Offer Freeview Of World Fishing Network's Gulf Recovery Event

Five distributors will offer a freeview of WFN: World Fishing Network's 24-hour fundraiser on June 30 to aid fishing communities devastated by the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Comcast, Dish Network, Charter Communications, AT&T U-verse and Knology thus far have agreed to open up their air to the fundraiser event.
On June 30, WFN will dedicate its entire day of programming and commercial airtime to support recreational and commercial anglers and environmental groups affected by the Gulf oil spill disaster. Throughout the day, WFN will direct viewers to donate to the WFN Fisherman's Fund, (www.wfn.tv/donate) which backsthe FishAmerica Foundation's Gulf Fund in support of Gulf Coast restoration efforts, and the Venice Charter Boat and Guide Association.
WFN News: Fishing Crisis in the Gulf, the Network's special report premieres on June 30 at 8 p.m. (ET), with encore airings throughout the evening. Co-hosted by WFN News anchor Jim Van Horne and Emmanuel Belliveau, host of WFN Green, the show exposes the economic impact of the disaster on the Gulf region's sportfishing industry, the angling community, and details the massive clean-up efforts. Belliveau will also offer viewers perspectives from Gordon Robertson, vice president, American Sportfishing Association and Johanna Laderman, executive director of the FishAmerica Foundation.
To ensure that as many customers as possible can participate in the 24-hour fundraising initiative, thus far, five satellite, cable and telco providers are offering free previews of WFN and/or WFN HD from June 28 to 30.
