Cable networks captured 39 of the 239 Daytime Emmy Award nominations, announced Wednesday.
Among cable networks, Food Network and Discovery Kids received the most nominations, with seven each. SOAPnet, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon each got three; Showtime, A&E Network, Nick Jr. and WE: Women's Entertainment each earned two; and AMC, Discovery Health Channel, Disney Channel, TLC and Travel Channel each garnered one.
The most honored network overall was CBS, with 59 nominations. Syndicated fare got 46 nominations, followed by ABC with 37, PBS with 31, NBC with 20, Kids WB! with six and The WB Television Network with one.
For the first time, the Daytime Emmys telecast will originate from the West Coast. The live broadcast will be April 28 from the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
The creative-arts ceremonies will be a bicoastal affair, with black-tie ceremonies at both the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York and the Grand Ballroom at Hollywood and Highland April 22.
