Food Gives Thanks for Paula

Food Network executives had plenty to be thankful for when reviewing ratings for Paula Deen’s special last Thursday.

The network carved up a 1.6 Nielsen Media Research household rating for Paula’s Southern Thanksgiving, the highest mark in network history. With an average of nearly 1.45 million households, the show was also the most-watched ever in that measure and ranked second only to the premiere of Iron Chef America relative to total viewership with 1.86 million watchers.

During its 9 p.m.-10 p.m. time slot, Paula’s Southern Thanksgiving was tied for sixth among all ad-supported cable programs, knotted for fourth among adults 25-54 with a 0.7 and set the pace among women 25-54 with a 0.9 mark, according to network officials.
