Food, Meredith Ink a Book Deal


Food Network is on Meredith Corp.'s menu, teaming with the publisher to produce a series of cookbooks from the channel's culinary team.

The first book, From the Food Network Kitchens (working title) — featuring recipes and tricks of the trade on shopping, plating and technique — is expected to hit retail this fall.

The Food Network Kitchens — the channel's culinary team, led by vice president of culinary Susan Stockton — prepares food on deadline, juggling production schedules for the network's lineup. Appropriately, Food's second book with Meredith, slated for release in spring 2004, will be titled From the Food Network Kitchens: Quick and Easy.
Food's relationship with Meredith marks parent Scripps Networks' second book-licensing arrangement with the company, which also publishes books under the Home & Garden Television banner.
