Los Angeles -- Fox Family Channel, which relaunches as a
daytime kids' network in August, will be promoted nationally on the Fox TV-station
affiliates as part of a proposed agreement regarding the Fox Kids broadcast network,
officials said last week.
Fox Kids Worldwide Inc. has reached a preliminary deal to
purchase the Fox affiliates' piece of Fox Kids Network for a reported $100 million.
Fox Kids Worldwide will take full ownership of the kids' broadcast network and pay
stations to carry it
As part of the preliminary agreement, the Fox Kids
affiliates will also contribute ad inventory to Fox Kids Worldwide to promote Fox Family
Channel, as well as the kids' broadcast network. Before this proposed deal, the Fox
TV stations owned a stake in Fox Kids Network and shared in its profits.
