Although its exclusive negotiating window closed on Friday, Fox Sports, according to sources, will continue its media rights discussions with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Sources indicate the parties are still in talks for a deal that could extend for 25 years at a value of upward of $6 billion. Fox’s exclusive 45-day negotiating window expired on Nov. 30. The programmer’s regional sports network Prime Ticket’s contract with the Dodgers concludes with the Major League Baseball club’s 2013 season.
Fox officials declined comment.
If the exclusive window has not been extended, the Dodgers would have to present Fox with a final proposal by Dec. 7. In turn, Fox would have 30 days to decide on the offer.
Time Warner Cable SportsNet, which wrested Los Angeles Lakers' rights away from Fox, has expressed interest in Dodgers’ rights should they become available.
