Fox Entertainment Group Inc. has expanded its long-term agreement with PanAmSat Corp. to the tune of two additional transponders.
Fox Cable Networks Group will use the new capacity on Galaxy 13’s C-band platform to distribute Fox Sports Net HD and other future high-definition services, the programmer said Tuesday.
“We are delighted that Fox turned to PanAmSat and Galaxy 13 for the long-term distribution of Fox Sports Net HD and future HD offerings to more than 10,000 cable headends throughout the United States," PanAmSat CEO Joe Wright said in a prepared statement.
“High-definition is rapidly becoming the preferred choice of television viewing for Americans, and PanAmSat is proud to have the nation's first and leading HD neighborhood on Galaxy 13,” he added. “It is made even more valuable with the addition of Fox Cable's HD services as they join the top names in HD programming.”
