After a dominant summer ratings performance, Fox News Channel remained at the top of the weekly ratings charts heading into September.
Fox News finished as the most-watched cable network in primetime for the 15th straight week, averaging 2.1 million viewers during the week of Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, according to Nielsen.
MSNBC finished second for the week with 1.8 million viewers, followed by ESPN’s 1.7 million viewers, USA’s 1.5 million viewers and HGTV’s 1.3 million watchers, said Nielsen.
TBS (1.2 million viewers), History (1.1 million), CNN and Investigation Discovery (1 million) and Disney Channel (921, 000) rounded out the top 10 most watched networks for the week.
Fox slayed cable networks on a 24-hour basis for the 35th consecutive week, besting in order Nickelodeon, MSNBC, CNN and ESPN.
The return of college football helped ESPN finish first for the week in primetime among adults 18-49, while Adult Swim was the most watched network in the demo on a total day basis, said Nielsen.
