Fox News Crew Kidnapped in Gaza

Fox News Channel reporter Steve Centanni and cameraman Olaf Wiig were kidnapped Monday in the Gaza Strip, the network reported Monday afternoon.

“Right now, at this hour, we can confirm that two of our colleagues at Fox News have been kidnapped in the Gaza Strip. They were taken against their will … and I can say at this time that negotiations are ongoing to secure their release. We don’t know which group has taken them,” Fox News correspondent Jennifer Griffin said in an on-air report Monday.

A Fox News spokesperson confirmed that two crew members were kidnapped, but the network has not yet released their names.

While Fox News ran a brief report on the kidnappings, the news has not dominated its coverage. The network also had not yet posted a story on the kidnappings on its Web site (www.foxnews.com) by 3 p.m. (EST) Monday.
