Fox News Goes Wireless via Sprint

Making its first foray into providing wireless content, Fox News Channel will deliver live programming on Sprint TV.

The cable news network is now part of channel 1 on Sprint TV, which is available nationwide on Sprint PCS Vision multimedia phones, according to officials at both companies.

Known as Fox News Channel Live, the programming will provide the network’s continuous live feed. It joins the channel, available for $9.99 monthly, which also transmits clipped content from NBC Mobile, ABC News Now and content from other programmers including Discovery Channel, Fox Sports and The Weather Channel, according to a Sprint spokeswoman.

“This deal positions Fox News Channel to become a significant player in the wireless industry and is a great opportunity to expand the brand and reach our loyal audience outside of their homes,” Fox News director of digital media Jeremy Steinberg said in a prepared statement.
