Fox News Channel has signed former Sen. Zell Miller (D-Ga.) as a contributor, beginning Jan. 6.
“I am excited to be joining Fox News Channel, and I am eager to contribute to the continuing success of the network,” Miller said in a prepared statement.
Miller’s political career spanned 55 years, ending with the recent conclusion of the 108th Congress.
Prior to his serving as senator of Georgia -- a term that began in 2000 -- Miller held numerous positions in government, including two terms as governor of Georgia (1991-99). From 1975-91, Miller was lieutenant governor of the state for four terms.
He also held several positions in the Georgia state government and in the Georgia Democratic Party from 1965-75 and served as state senator of Georgia for two terms in 1961-64.
Intermittently throughout his political career, Miller taught both history and political science as a professor at University of Georgia, Young Harris College and Emory University.
