Fox News Revamps Primetime Lineup

Fox News Channel personality Megyn Kelly is headed to primetime as part of a network lineup change, the network announced Tuesday.

Kelly will host a new show, The Kelly File, at 9 p.m. that will focus on late-breaking stories as well as investigative reports and interviews, said network officials. The show replaces in the timeslot the long running, Sean Hannity-hosted show Hannity, which will move to 10 p.m.

On the Record with Greta Van Susteren will move from 10 p.m. to 7 p.m., said the network. The O’Reilly Factor, cable news’ most watched show, will remain in its 8 p.m. timeslot.

The move comes as Fox News continues to dominate the cable news network ratings race, although the network posted a 5% decline in total viewers this past summer to 1.6 million.

“As the network continues to dominate with the top 13 programs in cable news, Fox News already redefined primetime viewing to extend well beyond the antiquated 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. format,” said Roger Ailes, chairman and CEO, Fox News in a statement. “We’ve developed a deep bench of engaging and thought-provoking personalities that have grown with Fox News as it has evolved into the most influential and successful cable network in television. These changes will enable the network to continue setting the industry standard for years to come.”
