Fox News Signs Hemmer to Multiyear Renewal

Bill Hemmer has inked a new multiyear deal that will push his tenure at Fox News Channel past a decade.

Hemmer’s new contract, financial terms of which were not disclosed, will keep him in the hosting seat of America’s Newsroom, alongside Martha MacCallum. In addition to leading the weekday news program in the 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. window, Hemmer will engage in other duties, including continuing to serve as the temporary host of FNC’s 1 p.m. hour, until it launches a new show in the timeslot.

"Bill Hemmer is a fantastic all-around newsman and a tremendous talent. One of his great gifts is his ability to work so well with everyone — there isn't an hour in our news lineup that Bill couldn't anchor,” said Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes. “He's the consummate team player."

Noted Hemmer: “There is no better boss in America than Roger Ailes. I’m proud to work for him and my wonderful, hardworking colleagues at FNC.”

Hemmer, who joined FNC in 2005, has covered numerous breaking news events during his tenure with the network, notably the Boston Marathon bombing, the Newtown school shootings, the earthquake in Haiti and every national election during that eight year timeframe.

Previously, Hemmer spent 10 years at CNN, where he served as co-anchor of American Morning and anchor of both CNN Live Today and CNN Tonight.
