Fox News Channel is maintaining its ratings dominance during the war in Iraq,
racking up a 5.5 rating in primetime Thursday, the first full day of the
Fox News attracted 6.2 million total viewers in primetime Thursday night,
while Cable News Network posted a 4.2 rating, or 5 million viewers, according to
Nielsen Media Research. MSNBC earned a 2.2 rating with 2.3 million viewers.
For total-day Thursday, Fox News posted a 3.9 rating, or 4.1 million viewers.
CNN came in second again with a 3.4 rating, or 3.7 million homes, while MSNBC
averaged a 1.6, or 1.6 million viewers.
CNN's total-day average of 3.7 million viewers was up 456 percent from its
year-to-date average, while Fox News was up 324 percent and MSNBC was up 415
