Fox News Tops Reagan Ratings


Fox News Channel was the cable outlet of choice among viewers interested in watching the funeral proceedings for former President Ronald Reagan Friday.

Fox News averaged 2.85 million viewers from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. June 11, the period that saw Reagan’s funeral procession to the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Cable News Network pulled in 1.51 million viewers on average during this span, while MSNBC garnered 832,000, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

Fox News was also way on top from 7:30 p.m.-11 p.m., when coverage of the proceedings shifted to California, with 4.66 million watchers, compared with 2.9 million and 1.3 million for CNN and MSNBC, respectively.
