Fox News Wins Cable’s Friday Debate


Fox News Channel came out No. 1 among cable news channels with its telecast of Friday’s presidential town-meeting debate in St. Louis, officials said Monday.

Fox News drew 7.1 million viewers from 9:01 p.m.-10:38 p.m. Friday for the debate between President Bush and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), up 257% from the same debate in 2000, according to Nielsen Media Research data supplied by Fox News.

Cable News Network tallied 3.4 million viewers, while MSNBC attracted 1.7 million.
