Fox Cable Networks Group will debut Fox Reality Channel sometime in the first quarter of 2005, the programmer said Tuesday.
The network will run original and off-network content from Fox-owned studios and outside suppliers. Its lineup will contain long- and short-form original series, as well as unscripted series with added original bonus features.
Features will include contestant commentary, preshow and postshow interviews, auditions, outtakes and behind-the-scenes clips.
Fox Cable said it will provide complementary Fox Reality Channel-branded video-on-demand and interactive opportunities to coincide with the network's launch, so fans can follow possible outcomes of several programs.
“Fox has created some of television's most enduring reality programming, while consistently taking the genre into exciting new directions," Fox Networks Group CEO Anthony Vinciquerra said in a prepared statement.
“Our combination of in-house studios, networks and distribution companies have all enjoyed tremendous success with the form,” he added. “It was never so much a question of whether we might take this next step and launch a dedicated reality channel. It was only a matter of when.”
