Fox Soccer Channel will televise the next two matches featuring the United States men’s national team.
On Nov. 17, the U.S. squares off against 2010 FIFA World Cup host South Africa in Johannesburg as part of the Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup. The friendly, scheduled live at 9 a.m. (ET) on Fox Soccer Channel, will mark the Yanks’ first-ever meeting against the South Africans and only the third time the U.S. national team has played on that continent.
The U.S. side kicks off its 2008 slate on FSC Jan 19, when it hosts Sweden, an 11-time World Cup participant, at the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. (ET) with a half-hour pre-game show. In their last confrontation, the Swedes hosted and topped “Uncle Sam’s Army” 1-0 last August in a match that aired on the network.
