Fox Soccer Channel will take its 10th anniversary celebration to Universal CityWalk on Saturday afternoon.
The network’s anniversary extravaganza is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.on Nov. 3 at Universal CityWalk in Universal City, Calif. Led by Fox Soccer Report co-host Jeremy St. Louis and Indie 103.1 FM radio personality Native Wayne, the event’s centerpiece is an outdoor screen airing of the Major League Soccer playoff match between the New England Revolution and New York red Bulls. There also will be appearances by Chris Klein and Peter Vagenas of the MLS's Los Angeles Galaxy, as well as U.S. women’s national team member Aly Wagner.
U2 cover band Hollywood U2 and The Rising Sound, the group that plays the “Get in the Game” theme for MLS Saturday on FSC, will perform.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to test their skills in the Galaxy’s “Soccer Pen” and to record a birthday video message for the network, the most creative of which will be played on-air. Additionally, Fox Soccer Channel, the Galaxy and Indie 103.1 FM will supply giveaway items, while drawings for prizes – courtesy of Fox Soccer Shop, Major League Soccer and adidas – will be held on stage.
Fox Soccer Channel is premiering the half-hour special, A Decade to Remember on Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. (ET) Hosted by network commentator Max Bretos, the show traces the channel’s history from its Fox Sports World origins in 1997 to its current 30-million subscriber status, showcasing best goals, moments and interviews.
