Fox Soccer Channel will get off to a quick start next week.
The network said Tuesday that it will launch with eight premier events in its first seven days.
England's Under-21 squad will take on Holland at Pride Park in Derby Tuesday, Feb. 8, in a friendly match carried live by the network at 3 p.m. (EST) and repeated at 8 p.m.
The next day, from Birmingham's Villa Park, the senior Three Lions squad (led by superstars David Beckham, Frank Lampard, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen) will host Holland's powerful Clockwork Orange (featuring Chelsea's Arjen Robben and Fulham's Edwin van der Sar), and Fox Soccer will air the friendly live at 2:30 p.m. with a repeat airing at 8 p.m.
The network’s launch week will also weekend matches from the Barclays English Premier League and German Bundesliga; and a set of Sunday games from the Premiership and the Argentine Clausura.
Fox announced last month that the Fox broadcasting network’s pregame show for its Super Bowl XXXIX telecast Feb. 6 will host a segment trumpeting the conversion of Fox Sports World to Fox Soccer the following day.
