Fox Sports en Español Gets In UFC Ring

Breaking new ground in U.S. Hispanic programming, Fox Sports en Español and Ultimate Fighting Championship Tuesday unveiled their agreement to bring the world's leading brand of professional mixed-martial-arts sports events to Spanish-language television for the first time ever.

The exclusive one-year deal includes Spanish-language television and video-on-demand rights to Gladiadores delUFC, a series of six one-hour UFC fight specials that will air over the course of six months.

Gladiadores delUFC joins Fox Sports en Español's newly created, two-hour Friday Fight Night block that also includes Lucha Libre, Boxeo de Campeones and Kick Boxing. Long-time UFC and Fox Sports en Español collaborator Tony Rivera and former boxer Genaro Hernandez will provide Spanish-language commentary for all Gladiadores delUFC telecasts.

Premiering Nov. 3 at 11 p.m., the first episode of Gladiadores delUFC features the top fighters from the UFC's most competitive weight class, the welterweights.

Each installment of Gladiadores delUFC will also be available to Hispanic digital-cable subscribers as part of Comcast’s On Demand en Español service. Refreshing each month, UFC programming will be included among the 10 hours of on-demand programming Fox Sports en Español already offers.

The service is available at no additional charge, and it is a companion VOD service that complements Comcast's CableLatino and Selecto Hispanic lineup.
