Fox Sports En Espanol Kicks Off InterLiga Tournament

Fox Sports en Espanol will kick off its live and exclusive coverage of the InterLiga tournament on Jan. 2.

Spanning 14 matches played through Jan. 12, the competition is the only all-Mexican professional soccer tournament to unfold solely on U.S. soil with the eight clubs vying for the final two berths in the 48th edition of the Copa Santander Libertadores. All contests, which also will be televised by Fox Sports Latin America, will be preceded by a live, half-hour pre-game show, hosted by Troy Santiago and Samuel Jacobo. Jorge Ramos and Hernan Pereira will share play-by-play commentary duties from the stadia, with field reporter Elmur Souza.

The eight teams competing in InterLiga 2008 earned berths based on their combined record in the 2006 Apertura and 2007 Clausura seasons of the Mexican domestic league.
