Fox Sports en Español on June 3 scored its highest ratings this year, when nearly 1 million total viewers -- adults 18-49 and males 18-49 -- tuned in to watch the semi-final match between LDU of Quito, Ecuador and Mexico’s club América, the network said.
The live telecast delivered more viewers for FSE than Telemundo and Telefutura in the male 18-49 demo and was broadcast at 9 pm (EST)/6 pm (PST).
The match, a scoreless draw, was played at the Casa Blanca stadium in Quito Ecuador and is part of the network’s successful Copa Santander Libertadores, whose final will be played June 25 between LDU and Fluminense of Brazil.
Citing figures from NHIH, Fox Sports en Español said this year’s semi-finals have averaged a total of 426,000 adult viewers 18-49, beating last year’s semi-finals by 255%
Fox Sports en Español, which currently reaches 4.6 million Hispanic homes and over 13 million total homes, also has seen its audience growth as a result of the growing share of Hispanic cable audiences, that have grown to 12% share of total day, from 8%; and to 10% for adults 18-49 in primetime, from 6.6%
