Fox Sports Net is about to buy into cable’s poker game.
The network will air the Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament for 12 consecutive Sundays at 9 p.m. starting Aug. 15.
The PSIT pits eight of the world’s best poker players -- Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, T.J. Cloutier, Barry Greenstein, Gus Hansen, Phil Ivey, Howard Lederer and Chip Reese -- against each other in a $400,000 buy-in No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em.
These eight poker professionals have collectively won more tournaments and money in cash games than any other comparable group of players, FSN said.
The new world poker champion will be crowned during the finale on NBC Feb. 6.
Chris Rose, host of Best Damn Sports Show Period, will call the action and Michael Konik will provide analysis.
