Capping a four-month transitional period, Fox Sports Net will officially go the acronym route next week.
As of Aug. 30, Fox Sports Net will be officially referred to internally and on-air as FSN.
A network spokesman said that beginning in April, the network’s on-air logo had included both the new triletter logo, as well as its name fully spelled out. The latter identifier will go away next week, when viewers will also hear all on-air references to the service as FSN and new graphics to that effect.
Internally, stationery and other communications messaging made the transfer over the past couple of weeks, according to the spokesman.
Similarly, the programmer’s owned-and-operated regional sports networks, as well as those affiliated with FSN, will bear the acronym, as well. For instance, Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh becomes FSN Pittsburgh starting next week.
