Fox Sports Taps Litner to Head YES Network

Fox Sports said it has named sports industry veteran Jon Litner president of the Yankees Entertainment & Sports Network, taking over for Tracey Dolgin, who stepped down earlier this year.

Litner has held a several top jobs in regional and national sports networks, most recently serving as president of NBC Sports Group, responsible for the eight NBC Regional Sports Networks and Golf Channel.  Litner has also served as president of SportsNet NY (SNY) and executive vice president and chief operating officer of the National Hockey League.

Litner will report to Fox Sports Regional Networks president Jeff Krolik and will assume his position immediately at the YES Network headquarters in New York City.

“We are truly pleased to welcome an executive with Jon's talent, experience and outstanding record of accomplishment,” Krolik said in a statement.  “We have every confidence that Jon will build on the YES Network's remarkable level of success.”

Dolgin stepped down as president of YES in June, becoming non-executive chairman of the network. YES said Dolgin will continue in that role, pursuing strategic initiatives for YES and its owners as well as personal opportunities.

“Jon is an excellent choice for this crucial role,” said New York Yankees President Randy Levine  in a statement. “He has been a real leader in the sports industry in general and in the regional sports network space in particular, and is a great fit for our YES partnership with FOX.”
