Freeform will return its sci-fi drama series Stitchers for a third season, the network announced Thursday.
The series, which stars Emma Ishta, Kyle Harris and Salli Richardson-Whitfield, follows the exploits of a secret government agency that uses a technologically advanced young woman to hack into the minds of dead people in an effort to investigate unsolved murders.
Among Adults 18-49, Stitchers is Freeform’s second most watched new series of the past two seasons behind freshman series Shadowhunters and is the network’s third most successful original series across digital platforms behind only Pretty Little Liars and Shadowhunters.
“Stitchers passionate fanbase has been vocal about wanting to see more of this show, and we listened,” said Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development for Freeform in a statement. “Stitchers has proven itself a consistently strong performer, and we’re proud of the fact that it celebrates smartgirls everywhere.”
