Freeform Sets New Comedy Pilot

Freeform will develop a comedy pilot that folllows the exploits of two misunderstood millennials, the network said Tuesday.

The series, Alone Together, will be developed by The Lonely Island comedy trio of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, and will follow two millennial misfits from different backgrounds as they try to make their way into the status-obsessed culture of Los Angeles, according to then network.

Esther Povitsky, (Lady Dynamite, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) and Benji Afalo (Not Safe with Nikki Glaser) will star in, write and executive-produce the pilot. Eben Russell will also write and executive-produce, according to the network.

“This is a fiercely funny look at young adults who are unapologetically themselves while blazing their own paths, which fits nicely into the tradition already set by our current slate,” said Karey Burke, executive vice president of programming and development for the network.
