French Net Launches in Houston

TV5 Etats-Unis, a global French-language network, launched in Houston Tuesday
as part of a carriage agreement with Time Warner Cable, officials said.

Effective Tuesday, the service with original programming from France,
Belgium, Switzerland, Canada and Africa became available to 700,000 digital and
analog homes in Houston.

TV5 is a premium service that costs $9.95 per month. Analog households in
Houston will also have to pay a $6 monthly fee for a digital converter in order
to get TV5.

TV5 is targeted toward viewers of French descent, Francophiles and those with
an interest in French culture.

During the past year, the network has launched in New York, Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Seattle and Boston.
