Fox Sports 1’s coverage of Major League Baseball’s playoffs helped push the network to the top of the weekly cable primetime charts, according to Nielsen.
FS1 averaged 3 million viewers during the week of Oct. 15-Oct. 21 -- fueled by its coverage of the Los Angeles Dodgers-Milwaukee Brewers MLB National League Championship Series – to top all cable networks during the period, reported Nielsen.
TBS, which aired baseball's Boston Red Sox-Houston Astros American League Championship series, finished in a second-place tie with college and pro football-fueled ESPN, and Fox News Channel with 2.6 million viewers. TNT rounded out the top five with 1.5 million viewers.
Fox News finished first on a total day basis for a whopping 41 consecutive week, followed by ESPN, TBS, MSNBC and Nickelodeon, according to Nielsen.
