FSN North dunked a multiyear extension that will add five Minnesota Timberwolves games to its air, beginning with the 2008-09 National Basketball Association season.
Tipping off with that campaign, FSN North will air 40 Wolves regular-season games, plus two preseason contests for the life of the deal, terms of which were not disclosed.
Each broadcast will include Wolves Live pregame and postgame shows. Under the pact that pertains to the upcoming season, FSN North will present 35 Wolves contests.
Under the new agreement, FSN North also will continue to televise select first- and second-round Wolves playoff games. FSN North will also produce a 30-minute Wolves Weekly show, which will air during the 2008-09 NBA season.
The network -- which counts more than 3 million subscribers in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and North and South Dakota -- will also continue to telecast six Minnesota Lynx Women's NBA games each season.
Other highlights of the new agreement include greater shared video content between the team and the network, as well as a larger marketing and promotional relationship.
“We are very proud of our continuing partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves,” FSN North senior vice president and general manager Mike Dimond said in a prepared statement. “Increasing our coverage of the Timberwolves allows us to honor our commitment in delivering the best possible sports programming to our viewers.”
