DirecTV Sports Networks has launched its FSN Pittsburgh service on Service Electric Cable TV.
The RSN is now available to the operator's 19,000 subscribers in the Wilkes-Barre, Penn. area. The market is the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins' minor league team, the Wilkes-Barre /Scranton Penguins hockey team, while the big club is the RSN's primary winter sports attraction, ranking near the top of the list for most-watched NHL clubs in its home market.
Financial deal terms were not disclosed.
FSN Pittsburgh, and DirecTV's other RSN, FSN Northwest and FSN Rocky Mountain (and sub-regional FSN Utah), will adopt the Root Sports moniker on April 1.
