FSN Ramping Up HD

FSN said it will more than double its total number of HD live events over the next year.

The programmer said its regional sports network will offer nearly 1,000 HD game telecasts and produce more than 2,500 hours of live event programming in HD, with fare including the National Basketball Association, Major League Baseball, the National Hockey League and NCAA football and basketball.

FSN added that it is currently building a new technical-operations center in Houston -- expected to open in the fall of 2007 -- that will provide greater capacity to transmit HD programming.

“We look forward to expanding our HD offerings as additional HD capacity and facilities come online,” FSN chief operating officer Randy Freer said in a prepared statement.
