Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain said Thursday that it will continue its 16-year relationship with the National Football League’s Denver Broncos by signing a multiyear content deal with the team in conjunction with a local television station.
Under terms of the deal, FSN -- which is facing competition from upstart regional sports network Altitude Sports & Entertainment -- will telecast replays of all Broncos preseason games made available to local broadcast station KCNC-TV, officials said.
FSN Rocky Mountain -- which serves nearly 3 million subscribers -- will also air an exclusive half-hour Broncos pregame show prior to each regular-season game, as well as a 30-minute postgame show.
“We’re thrilled that Fox Sports Net is able to create a new partnership with the Broncos and KCNC-TV, providing additional Broncos coverage and analysis to fans in the Rocky Mountain region,” FSN Rocky Mountain vice president and general manager Tim Griggs said in a prepared statement.
“Having the Broncos, in addition to [Major League Baseball’s Colorado] Rockies and extensive collegiate programming such as Colorado State University, Colorado University and University of Denver, offers unique and valuable programming for fans of our local sports teams,” he added.
The deal secures content from one of the area’s major sports properties for FSN, which this year will lose Denver Nuggets National Basketball Association and Colorado Avalanche National Hockey League games to Altitude, which launches this fall.
