fuboTV Hires Head of Content Strategy and Acquisition

fuboTV, the sports-oriented virtual MVPD, said it has hired former Verizon exec Ben Grad as head of content strategy and acquisition for North America.

Grad, formerly executive director of content strategy and acquisition at Verizon, is based at fuboTV’s New York headquarters and reports to CFO Joel Armijo, an industry vet who was hired late last year.

In the role, Grad will head up content acquisition strategy, packaging, affiliate relations and contract negotiations with fuboTV’s North American content partners.  He’ll also head development of the OTT TV provider’s viewership analytics platform, and will provide content-related data and for fuboTV’s business development, product and marketing efforts, the company said.

Prior to joining Verizon in 2007, Grad was head of strategy at Fuse and was a member of Time Warner’s corporate strategic planning group.  He began his career at Marakon Associates, and holds holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University and an MBA in finance and marketing from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
