Fuse Gets U.K.’s Empire Square

U.K. cartoon-short series Empire Square will cross the pond and join Fuse’s lineup.

U.K.-based Outside line will create seven half-hour episodes exclusively for the Rainbow Media Holdings LLC-owned music network, Fuse said Monday.

The network added that Empire Square features “three foul-mouthed stars -- Rabbit, Hooks and Tourette’s-suffering, wanna-be-rock star Richie -- and takes place in the fictional location of Empire Square.”

“We think Empire Square will undoubtedly resonate with our hip, young-adult viewers,” Rainbow Media Ventures president Andrea Greenberg said in a prepared statement. “The series embraces the spirit of today’s animated hits such as SouthPark and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and it incorporates the edgy, snarky Fuse spin, which pushes the envelope and pokes fun at music, celebrities and society.”
