Fuse has ordered 13 additional episodes of Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, to be split across two new seasons. The half-hour unscripted series, which follows musician Big Freedia and her role in the New Orleans bounce music scene, recently finished airing its second season on the network.
"Big Freedia is a sensational, unique talent, and we are thrilled to announce that the series will be back for a third and fourth season, following a year that saw her popularity grow, and her show attract more viewers than any other in Fuse history," said Bill Hilary, president of Fuse, in a release.
The series has shown steady ratings growth throughout its run on the network, with season two averaging 74% more total viewers than season one. According to Nielsen Live Plus Same Day figures, the season two premiere on June 11 drew 190,000 viewers.
Production on new episodes is scheduled to begin in September, with the third season expected to debut on Fuse in early 2015.
