Fusion Rings Up VoIP ‘softphone’

Fusion Telecommunications International Inc. completed work on technology that transforms PCs into voice-over-Internet-protocol telephones.

The company said customers will be able to download a beta version of its “softphone” software free-of-charge later this month from its “efonica” Web site (www.efonica.com).

Fusion added that softphone “provides a solution to customers who have previously been unable to access VoIP services due to the lack of a broadband connection.”

The company aims to create a worldwide community of subscribers, primarily targeting consumers who call internationally.
