FX counted out its freshman drama series Light's Out, cancelling the boxing-themed series Thursday.
FX will air the final two episodes of the current season in its regularly scheduled Tuesday night time period, the network said.
The series, which stars Holt McCallany as an aging former boxing champion trying to adjust to life outside the ring, got off to a slow ratings start, averaging 1.5 million viewers in its Jan. 11 debut. Overall the series is currently averaging 988,000 viewers and 601,000 viewers within the 18-49 demo.
Light's Out marks the second consecutive original series the network has cancelled. The network in February cancelled the drama series Terriers after that show posted lower than expected ratings.
