A Lifetime Television special and an FX original movie posted record-breaking
ratings and viewership figures, respectively.
Lifetime's 90-minute The Golden Girls: Their Greatest Memories June 2
special banked a 3.7 Nielsen Media Research rating, making it the highest-rated
special in the network's 19-year history, network executives said.
The show -- which featured highlights and current interviews with cast
members from the successful 1980s series -- also ranked first in its time period
among all key female demographics, as well as among persons 18-34.
FX's June 1 original movie, 44 Minutes, drew a network record 6.1
million viewers, an FX spokesman said.
The movie -- which chronicled the true-life story of a North Hollywood,
Calif., police shootout with bank robbers -- also posted a 4.8 rating, tying two
