FX Makes Golden Globe Dent


It's no surprise that Home Box Office is the king of the Golden Globe
nominations, earning 26 nods.

The surprise is that the second-most-nominated among cable networks is

The basic network may earn statuettes for its critically acclaimed The
and RFK.

The awards, selected by the Foreign Press Association, were announced Dec. 19
and included nominations for The Shield andHBO's The Sopranos
and Six Feet Under as best drama; and HBO's Sex and the City
and Curb Your Enthusiasm for best comedy.

A cable production will certainly get the statuette for best movie or
miniseries. The nominees are Live from Baghdad, The Gathering Storm
and Path to War from HBO; Shackleton from A&E Network; and
Taken from Sci Fi Channel.

In all, HBO earned 26 nominations, followed by NBC with 13; Fox with 7; CBS
and FX with three each; and Turner Network Television and ABC with two each.

The awards will be presented Jan. 19.
