FX said it has renewed its critically acclaimed drama series Damages for two additional seasons.
The network ordered 26 episodes of the Sony Pictures Television produced drama/thriller starring Glenn Close as a no-nonsense litigator pursuing a case against corrupt corporate titan Ted Danson.
In its first season, Damages averaged 2.5 million total viewers and 1.1 million Adults 18-49, with those numbers increasing to 5.1 million and 2.5 million respectively when weekly multi-telecast airings are factored in.
Production of season two is slated to begin early next year in New York.
“FX is proud of our status as a leader in fostering bold, high quality scripted programming,” said FX President and General Manager John Landgraf in a statement.
“We commend Todd A. Kessler, Glenn Kessler, Daniel Zelman and their magnificent cast, headed by Glenn Close, with pulling off this hugely ambitious series and establishing Damages as one of the best dramas on American television.”
