FX won’t be digging any more seasons of Dirt.
The network has cancelled the original scripted series, which actress Courteney Cox not only starred in but executive produced, an FX spokesman confirmed Wednesday.
Friends alumni Cox played a tough tabloid magazine editor who would stop at nothing to get the dirty scoops about Hollywood’s celebrities.
The FX spokesman said the network hasn’t made a decision yet on the future of a second original scripted show, The Riches.
Dirt, produced by ABC Studios and FX Productions, was on the air two seasons. There were 13 installments the first season, but only seven this year, because of the writer’s strike. But the show’s ratings lagged in its second season, which ended with a finale April 13.
