FX Sews Up Nip/Tuck Creator

Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy agreed to stay with FX’s plastic-surgeon series for its expanded 22-episode fifth season.

In addition, the Golden Globe-winning producer will develop new projects exclusively for Twentieth Century Fox Television under a multiyear pact that affords Fox Broadcasting a first look at projects.

Under the new deal, Murphy will continue his duties as executive producer, writer and director of Nip/Tuck, basic cable’s top scripted series among the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 set. The new season is expected to bow in the fall.

Murphy is also working on 4 oz., a drama pilot for FX chronicling the metamorphosis of a married sportswriter who gets a sex change.
