FYI Hires Programming Pair

A+E Networks-owned FYI, the network that is being created from the current BIO, hired two new executives as vice president of programming and development, one from the production realm and another formerly on the network side. They are Liz Fine and James Bolosh and they report to Gena McCarthy, senior vice president of programming at FYI, which will emerge as a new "contemporary lifestyle network" this summer.

Jana Bennett, President of FYI and LMN, said in a release: “Liz and James are exceptionally talented programming executives that bring a proven track record from across our industry. Their experience in developing and creating hit shows will be instrumental as we build FYI into a powerful platform. I am absolutely thrilled to have them join the team.”

Prior to FYI, Fine (left) was a co-executive producer for Atlas Media Corp and Left/Right, where she co-produced the docu-series franchise Mob Wives. She previously helped format the first season of Parking Wars, which ran for seven seasons on A&E, and worked on such shows as Chopped, A Wedding Story and Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style.

Bolosh (right) joins FYI with experience from HGTV, MTV, VH1, CNBC and more. At HGTV, he spent several years developing and managing series such as House Hunters International, HGTV Design Star and Designed to Sell. At MTV Networks, he developed and managed numerous series including FriendZone for MTV and Driven for VH1, and at CNBC he most recently helped launch the network’s primetime alternative block of programming and oversaw the development and production of the business makeover show The Profit.

In a release, the network said it is in active development on more than 30 potential new series and is approaching availability in 70 million U.S. homes.
