G4’s Icons to Look at Lollapalooza

G4’s weekly documentary/biography series, Icons, will take on Lollapalooza.

The episode -- set to air Saturday at 7:30 p.m. (EST/PST) -- will examine the music festival, which was founded by Jane’s Addiction leader Perry Ferrell in 1991.

Lollapalooza was resurrected in 2005 as a “destination festival,” and it attracted nearly 200,000 concertgoers to its 70-acre venue in Chicago’s Grant Park this month, G4 said.

Icons will include interviews with musicians Ferrell, Henry Rollins and Ice-T, who played at the very first Lollapalooza; as well as bands including The Eels, Kill Hannah, The Shins, The Go! Team, 30 Seconds to Mars, Common, Matt Costa, Aqualung and The Flaming Lips.
