Gaiam TV Fit & Yoga Launches On FiOS SVOD

The Gaiam TV Fit & Yoga service is launching as a $7.99 monthly subscription video-on-demand service on Verizon FiOS TV's multiple platforms, following a similar launch in January on Comcast's Xfinity TV. It will be available to stream on FiOS mobile apps in addition to the TV VOD platform. It offers access to more than 100 fitness programs, including yoga instructors and fitness trainers Rodney Yee (pictured), Leslie Sansone and Shiva Rea. Program choices include cardio, pilates, yoga, meditation, pre- and postnatal exercise, sculpting and toning, walking, circuit training and dance, as well as programs tailored for certain health conditions including arthritis and stress-related illnesses, Gaiam said in a release.

“Gaiam TV Fit & Yoga delivers a wide variety of alternative exercise options that offer solutions for the healthy and eco-conscious lifestyle,” Eric Velez, Verizon’s senior manager for new product development, said in the release. “Our customers can enjoy the on-demand programming in their homes or at a park, without the hassle of going to a gym. We think this is going to be a big hit with FiOS customers.”

Outside of MVPD partnerships, Gaiam TV offers ad-free streams of films, documentaries and fitness and yoga programs as an over-the-top service, available on Roku, PS3, Xbox 360, Amazon Fire TV, iPad and Android, according to its web site.
